For visual sites such as fashion, images need to be at the optimum size for each device. The site needs to show enough examples, to encourage an initial consultation.

Desktop & Mobile

Page design followed a 2 column ‘zig-zag’ layout: images half the screen-width, text on the other.

Ideal for ‘landscape’ orientated images, dresses tend to be ‘portrait’. So, the half-width of images is now three images, side by side.

However, mobile devices are viewed in ‘portrait’. So, for tablet and especially single column phone view less images display, whilst still showing sufficient range.

This bespoke or ‘made to measure’ approach avoids the dreaded ‘long scroll’ as shown below.
